Our Principal Attends the 2022 Boarding Meeting of the Confucius Classroom at Maryknoll School

近日，美国玛利诺学校孔子课堂2022年理事会议在线上举行，玛利诺学校校长莎娜·唐（Shana Tong）、副校长丹·纳戈米（Dan O. Nagami）、小学部负责人金柏莉·冈萨雷斯（Kimberly Gonzalez），北京外国语大学校长助理、北外附校校长林卫民、孔子学院工作处处长金利民、北外附校党总支书记张继军等理事出席会议。玛利诺学校中学部负责人乔纳森·爱莫苏丹（Jonathan Hermosura）、玛利诺孔子课堂中方课堂长王娜列席会议。

Recently, the 2022 Board Meeting of the Confucius Classroom at Maryknoll School was held online. Shana Tong, Maryknoll School Principal, Dan O. Nagami, Vice Principal, Kimberly Gonzalez, Head of Primary School, Lin Weimin, Assistant to the President of Beijing Foreign Studies University and Principal of BFSU International School, and Jin Limin, Director of the Confucius Institute Office, attended the meeting. Jonathan Hermosura, Head of the middle school department of Maryknoll School, and Wang Na, Head of the Chinese classes of the Maryknoll Confucius Classroom, attended the meeting.

与会理事听取了孔子课堂的工作报告、财务报告，就未来玛利诺学校与北外附校的合作表达热情意愿并交流意见。林卫民代表北外及北外附校表示了对孔子课堂建设和发展的重视和坚定信心，对三方积极应对疫情、拓展合作的精神表示赞赏，希望基于北外附校及玛利诺学校的线上云游学项目，在学前至高中的全学段扎实拓展双向交流与合作，携手推动面向未来的基础教育。

The participating directors listened to the work report and financial report of the Confucius Classroom, expressed enthusiasm and exchanged opinions on the future cooperation between Maryknoll School and BFSU. On behalf of BFSU and BFSU International School, Lin Weimin expressed the importance and firm confidence in the construction and development of Confucius classrooms, and expressed his appreciation for the spirit of the three parties to actively respond to the epidemic and expand cooperation. He also expressed his hope that based on the School's and Maryknoll School's online study program, two-way exchanges and cooperation will be solidly expanded from pre-school to high school, so as to jointly promote future-oriented basic education.

金利民对孔子课堂的工作成绩表示了认可，对三方未来的合作表示期待，并提出了发展方向的建议。张继军介绍了北外附校小学教育的项目设想，得到美方的积极回应。

Jin Limin recognized the achievements of the Confucius Classroom, expressed her expectations for the future cooperation between the three parties, and put forward suggestions on the development direction.

玛利诺学校孔子课堂为北外在美建设的唯一一所孔子学院/课堂，也是玛利诺学校、北外、北外附校合作运行的夏威夷州第一个及唯一一个中文沉浸式项目，致力于助力夏威夷基础教育发展，提供中文及中国文化项目及服务。

The Confucius Classroom at Maryknoll School is the only Confucius Classroom built by BFSU in the United States, and it is also the first and only immersion Chinese program in Hawaii jointly run by Maryknoll School, BFSU, and BFSU International School. The immersion program is dedicated to helping the development of basic education in Hawaii and providing Chinese and Chinese cultural programs and the related services.
